Last day to vote

BULLETIN: CURRENT LEADERS: BETH CARTER, V.L. GREGORY, AND GAY FAWCETT. YOUNG POETS: MEGAN BARNETT, BENNETT MILLER, AND GRACE O’LEARY.

As of last night the leaders for the February Hall of Fame Poet are: Beth Carter (1st), Gay Fawcett and V. L. Gregory (tied for 2nd) and krj3kyll (3rd). Among our young poets, leaders are Megan Barnett, Bennett Miller, and Grace O’Leary in that order. Congratulaions to everyone!

If you haven’t cast your vote yet, better not put it off. If you have voted and your favorite poet isn’t leading the pack, there is still time to get your network of friends to come to the rescue. The ballot box cuts off tonight at midnight CST.

Tomorrow I’ll announce the word for March’s Word of the Month Poetry Challenge. We are seeing two or three dozen poets step forward each month, some from as far away from where I’m sitting as England, Philippines, and India. This is an international opportunity for poets of all ages and I look forward to welcoming a growing family of contributors.

It isn’t necessary to be a published poet or even an experienced poet to join the excitement. As you have noticed from the comments, this is a site where you always encounter support and encoragement. Writing of any sort is personal. To show it to someone else is a gift. Here we accept the gift and honor it. Please make yourself at home.

      • Hi Michele,

If you are trying to vote today it’s because the balloting closed last night. I don’t think you’ll have any problem at the end of March when the voting boxes go up again for the next round of voting.

        Thanks for joining us!

    • Good morning, Loretta,

When the voting boxes go up each month, you can click on the circle to the left of your choice for adult and for your choice of young poet. At the bottom of each box click on vote. That’s all there is to it. If you want to read or reread the poems before you vote, there is a line just above each voting box which, if clicked on, takes you straight to the entire list of poems submitted for the month.

I hope to see a Kaskey poem posted for March. The word is “life.”

      David
