Wrapping up summer

September Fog
by David L. Harrison

Gossamer ghosts of summer,
fleeing autumn’s chilly breath,
surrender, vanish
in a crystal, sweater day.

    • Glad you like it, Jane. These cool mornings the steam fog rolls across the lake surface like smoke rising. It’s beautiful.

  1. Lovely poem, David. I’m envious. (Actually, thanks for the cooling moment.) You seem to get the good weather–and water to boot. Would you like me to send you a cup of desert sand? I’ll leave the scorpions out.

    • Good morning, Joy,

Being an old Arizona boy, I wouldn’t mind the sand, scorpians and all. But I must say that I like these Ozarks too!

  2. Hello friend Yousei,

Thank you for liking this poem. The fog that morning was enough to make you want to write.
