Sandy, our visiting son Jeff, and I were in the garage two days ago when we noticed a car in the water at the far end of the lake. The hood was submerged, windshield wipers running, door on driver’s side open. It was too far away to see if anyone was in the car but some emergency vehicles were already there so the accident must have occurred a few minutes earlier. We learned that a woman driving alone had veered into the lake and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released yet so I don’t know if she was a neighbor or someone passing through the area. It isn’t the first time a car has wound up in Goose Lake, but it is the first time a life has been lost here. The neighborhood is very sad.
