My March Word of the Month poem

Hi everyone,

Here’s my take on SALT.

My Brother Said
David L. Harrison

My brother said,
“To catch a bird
And never fail,
Creep behind
And sprinkle salt
Upon its tail.”

My brother also
Said, “They say
The early bird
Gets the worm
At six a.m.
Or so I’ve heard.”

I figured out
A surefire plan —
With worm for bait
And lots of salt
I’d lure a bird
And seal its fate.

I chased a bird
And I was fast,
But it was quicker.
As it flew
I swear I heard
My brother snicker.
