Yesterday I learned that the 4th edition of CHILDREN’S LITERATURE IN THE READING PROGRAM, edited by Deborah Wooten, University of Tennessee, is now available to preorder online through International Reading Association (now to be known as International Literacy Association). The book officially comes out on Monday in digital form and will be in print by this summer when ILA holds its annual conference, this time in St. Louis. http://www.reading.org/general/Publications/Books/bk387?utm_source=387preorder&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=books
I wrote the first chapter in the book, which is called “Poetry, the Write Thing to Do,” so I get first crack at attracting potential readers/buyers. Wish us luck!
If you plan to attend the conference, I hope you’ll come to Ruth Culham’s presentation (I’m M.C. for that) and to the presentation I’ll give with Mary Jo Fresch, Richard Gentry, and Lindsey Moses called “Joyful Evidence-Based Strategies for PreK—Grade 2 Literacy Success.” Date: July 19, Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM,
Location: America’s Center St. Louis, 228.
