Hi everyone,

I’m looking at a set of proofs for my poetry collection, NOW YOU SEE THEM, NOW YOU DON’T, which is handsomely illustrated by Giles Laroche and due out in February from Charlesbridge.

I plan to show it off tonight at “An Evening with David Harrison: Readings, Backstories and Belly Laughs” and read a poem or two from it. I’ve waited a long time for this one but it was worth the wait. Now I’m eager to start sharing it. Way to go Giles! Way to go, editor Karen Boss!

    • Thank you, Alicia. Giles really outdid himself with this one. I can’t wait to see it in stores and libraries!

  1. I LOVE Giles work. We did a book together many years ago, RAGGED SHADOWS (Little, Brown). I have a caricature on my library wall he did for me which I see every day. I SO look forward to reading your new collection, David.

    • Greetings, Lee. Giles’s ears must be burning as his fan club assembles. I have a caricature by Betsy Lewin so maybe I can use that as leverage to go to work on Giles.

  2. David,

Your book is one I’ll have to get for my two granddaughters. Julia, the older girl, loves learning about animals.

Like Lee, I, too, love Giles work. I have seen some of his originals up close. His cut paper collages are truly works of art.
