A short story about the old days

Hi everyone,

My April Word of the Month poem.

Making the Most of It

Not so long ago folks knew a thing or two.
They knew about making things work,
making them last.
They came up making do.

They told one another, told us, too,
life hands you lemons, make lemonade.
They made the most of it,
played with the cards
they were dealt.

Not so long ago folks knew a thing or two.

  1. Indeed they did! We often said just keep on, keeping on. My son-in-law’s car (new jeep) just was in the shop for two days while they downloaded a new update for its computer. We had a big laugh wondering what my uncle, a car mechanic, would think. No trouble-shooting, just a lot of waiting and expense.
