I’m running late, but here’s my Word of the Month poem for July.
The Moment My life has always been my own. No one tells me what to do. I call the shots, I come and go, off to search for something new. But now I know I'll never leave. I can't speak, can hardly breathe. She's with another, I don't care. We haven't met, don't know her name, but this I know with all my soul, my life will never be the same. Since she walked in, I'll never leave. I can't speak, can hardly breathe. She looks at me across the room, a fleeting look, a passing glance. She smiles and turns her head away. I'll risk it all, I'll take a chance, I know now why I'll never leave. Only together can we breathe. (c) 2022 David L. Harrison, all rights reserved
