My Word of the Month poem for February

Hi everyone,

Here’s my offering for February. The word is US

Us

There was a time,
when we were young,
I’d whisper secrets.
You’d understand.
There never was a better bear.
The two of us were quite a pair,
when we were young.

In my mind I see you there,
tucked against my pillow,
ears alert, sewn-on eyes
gazing sympathetically at me.
What became your fate I wonder,
after I grew up and went away.

If only I could summon you,
hold you tight once more.
Life, now, is more complex,
secrets harder to explain.
But the two of us were quite a pair,
and there never was a better bear,
when we were young.
