Hi everyone,

Quick announcement. Next month I’m an honoree for this year’s Ella Dickey Award.
The official site describes the award this way. The Ella Dickey Literacy Award is presented annually in honor of Marshfield’s first librarian, Ella Dickey. Dickey served in this capacity for over 50 years. The awards are presented to six national authors who have contributed to the preservation of history during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The award was first presented in 2002 by the Webster County Literacy Council. I was holding off to mention it but the folks in charge just posted, so I guess I can too. I’m in good company and very flattered. Here’s a link to the event.
“We are pleased to announce that David Harrison (children’s author) will be a VIP guest at the Missouri Cherry Blossom Festival in Marshfield, Missouri. David will be among the 2021 class of honorees of the Ella Dickey Literacy Award. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 22 at 4:30 pm at the Marshfield Assembly of God.”
