Back in the wheel

Hi everyone,

My thanks to Jen Murvin at Pagination Bookshop for hosting the poetry reading last night. I enjoyed participating in the event with Marcus Cafagna, Karen Craigo, and Sara Burge. Sorry we ran out of time after and hour and a half with ten people still having unanswered questions. If you want to send me yours, my email address is davidlharrison1@att.net. If you had questions for other poets, please send them to Jen at Pagination. Jen invited us back for another reading in a year or so and I’ll look forward to it.

For now, it’s back in the wheel. I’m holding my own on the project at hand but other deadlines loom.

Next Tuesday evening is Poetry Night, not recommended for a young audience

Hi everyone,

I want to emphasize that this is not a program for children. Some poems may include adult content. I advise against inviting young children to join you for the performance.

I’m looking forward to joining three other poets next Tuesday evening, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. CST, for a Zoom and Facebook online poetry reading. People are beginning to sign up now.

To view the event, just click on the webinar link at the time of the event to join the free event. Jen Murvin at Pagination Bookshop, will be our host as part of their continuing celebrations during National Poetry Month! Jen invites you to “join the Zoom webinar here: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/841892558The91 or watch live on Facebook. {The video will be housed on our FB page after the event, so you can enjoy it later and/or again!} *This is a virtual event.*

Poetry

NOTE: During the night WordPress changed the format and I’m all thumbs now as I struggle to find where all my familiar landmarks have gone. I apologize and will do my best to get better at this as I go.
Hi everyone,

Everything is in place for the poetry reading on April 13 at 7:00-8:00 p.m. CST. Hosted by Jennifer Murvin at Pagination Bookshop, the reading will feature four poets, each with about 10 minutes to speak and read, and conclude with a 10-20 minute Q/A session.

Information about the event is now available on the Pagination Bookshop website:

A great place to get my books in Springfield

Hi everyone,

Since the online presentation this past Saturday hosted by our Springfield-Greene County Public Library District, I’ve gone to Pagination Bookshop (1150 E. Walnut Street in Springfield) and personalized all the titles in their generous inventory of my books. My thanks to Shane for showing me around the wonderful shop and to Jen Murvin for helping us with book sales for the event.

If you want any of my books, here’s what you’ll find at Pagination. Each one is signed. If you want a person’s name added, let them know at the store and we’ll arrange for me to mail you a signed sticker to insert.

How to get books for tomorrow’s event

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow morning at 11:00 I, along with Jane Yolen, will give a virtual presentation at The Library Center. You can still sign up today for the free program by calling the library and give them your library card ID. This will be a very kid friendly event. I’ll read a poem or two from AFTER DARK and kids who are signed up can follow me along with echo reading and sound effects. Then Jane comes on and we’ll read from and talk about our book, RUM PUM PUM, about a little boy in India who misplaces his drum. A friendless tiger finds it, learns how to make it “talk,” and sets off down the road attracting a parade of new friends.

These two books as well as other of my titles are available through Pagination Bookshop at 1150 E. Walnut Street, an independent bookstore and literary venue housed in a historic home built in 1905.
You can contact Jen Murvin and the staff at paginationbookshop@gmail.com or visit visit the store in person. They’re open to socially distanced and masked browsing Tuesdays-Sundays 12-5, with extended hours Saturday until 6 PM, and their ONLINE STORE is open 24/7! You can choose in-store pick up, shipping, or ship a gift to a loved one. Jen is offering a 15% discount on my books so that’s a good deal. If you want me to sign your books, let her know and I’ll take care of it when I go to her beautiful store later to sign them.

I hope to see some of you tomorrow.
