Today at 3:00 on KOLR-10

Hi everyone,

Still working to promote the new trade books, THE DIRT BOOK and I WANT AN APPLE. This afternoon at 3:00 CST, I’ll be interviewed KOLR-10 TELEVISION, our CBS affiliate, by JOY ROBERTSON and TOM TRTAN and look forward to it. Here’s the link if you’re interested.  https://www.facebook.com/OzarksLive/

Don’t stare

Hi everyone,

On the 10th I was on KOLR-10 TV with Joy Robertson. This morning at 9:30 CT I’ll be on Zoom to make a video with Mary Jo Fresch as guests of Sam Bommarito to talk about our new book. On the 20th I’ll be the guest of MSU’s Jim Baker on Ozarks Watch on Ozark Public Television. That’s three public appearances in ten days. And just in times for these appearances, guess what I have? My first fever blister of 2020. When did this one start? On the 10th. How long do these things last for me? Ten days. I tell you this humbling bit of news so you won’t stare at my lip and make me self-conscious.

Big day for the ego

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I watched myself talking with Joy Robertson on KOLR10-TV from Tuesday’s Ozarks Live: https://www.ozarksfirst.com/ozarks-live/national-young-readers-day-a-conversation-with-david-harrison-11-10-20/

Kathy Temean gave me an attaboy for my Laura Ingalls Wilder Children’s Literature Medal at her site: https://kathytemean.wordpress.com/2020/11/11/book-winners-reminders-kudos/#comments

Greg Holman wrote an article about my 100th book (EMPOWERING STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE OF VOCABULARY) that previewed in the News-Leader’s e-edition at this link: https://www.news-leader.com/story/news/local/ozarks/2020/11/11/springfield-book-novel-author-david-harrison-on-sale-preorder/6235047002/?fbclid=IwAR3i4f-XX0D_YapLslkfnQpH8wVpjOMZU9wVlxbbDOY3MyG1nhJmZIaDT1Y

Later in the morning the folks at Laura Ingalls Wilder Children’s Literature Festival sent me the video taken when I accepted the award. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9MH-FDCCX4

I tried to take a selfie but couldn’t get all my smile to fit in.

On KOLR-10 TV today

Hi everyone,

This afternoon at 3:00 CST I will be the guest of Joy Robertson on Ozarks Live as part of the celebration of National Young Readers Day. The interview will touch on the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children’s Literature Award, my career, and some of my work. I doubt we’ll have time for me to read anything but I’ll hold up some recent titles and smile for the camera.

The 2020 version of appearing on TV follows this routine: I’ll be escorted in, they’ll take my temperature, I’ll sit in a waiting room till show time, then be escorted in and out of the studio. It pays to be cautious. Joy herself has had the virus and is happy to get through it and return to work.
