Sequels are so hard!

Hi everyone,

I’ve lamented for years that my mind doesn’t embrace sequels. I’ve had some strong characters over the years — Piggy Wiglet, Wake Up, Sun!, Eloise and the Old Blue Truck, The Book of Giant Stories, The Boy with a Drum, Little Boy Soup, Detective Bob and the Ape Escape, etc. — but on the occasions when I’ve attempted to create a sequel adventure for any of those characters, my muse has said, “Nope, you’ve been there done that.”

One of my goals for after my term expired as MO PL was to take one of my characters and try again for a sequel. I chose one and so far have started three new adventures, all of which are lousy. I hate to think that my brain can be so one-dimensional. I keep hoping that I’ll finally stumble across the secret for taking a character and giving him, her, it a great new adventure. This time I’m not going to give up. I hope.
