The link to Joseph Bruchac’s guest column

CORRECTION: Joe’s wife’s last name is misspelled in the article. It should be Nicola Marae Allain. Apologies for the error!

Hi everyone,

Here’s how to read JOE BRUCHAC’S edition of Poetry from Daily Life.

Poetry from Daily Life: Writing a poem can be as simple as walking and talking Joseph Bruchac makes a daily ritual of walking with his dog and his phone, which he uses to record his thoughts — often forming the seed of a poem. www.news-leader.com

Thank you again, Joe. I’m delighted to have you as a guest.

Don’t forget, folks, we are still in the early stages of this column. We have plenty of wonderful talents ready to contribute their wisdom, and we’re in five newspapers already, but the hope is to reach many times the number of readers we have now. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Joseph Bruchac coming to Poetry from Daily Life

Hi everyone,

This week it is my pleasure to feature JOSEPH BRUCHAC as my guest on Poetry from Daily Life. Many of you know him or know of him, but this is a rare opportunity to hear directly from Joe about a subject very dear to him: poetry. I learned from his wisdom and believe that you will too. He will appear in Springfield News-Leader tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday I will post a link to his column so everyone else can enjoy it too.

A quick introduction: Joseph Bruchac lives in Greenfield Center, NY. Over the years he has written in just about every genre, but poetry—especially related to nature—remains his first love. One of his favorite books to write was Code Talker, which gave Joe the unforgettable privilege of working with actual Navajo Code Talkers while writing and researching it. He and his wife, Nicola Marae Alain, are licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Joe says that he has petted everything from mountain lions and eagles to wild turkeys and porcupines (carefully).
