The week we rested

Hi everyyone,

It has been an unusual week. We booked a 7-day stay in Branson for some R&R but I had other commitments during the week here in Springfield. We drove down and checked in last Friday. On Saturday we drove back to Springfield so I could moderate a panel. Later in the day, we returned to Branson. On Tuesday morning we drove back to Springfield so I could visit two groups of students in the WINGS summer program. Back to Branson.

Jeff was with us the last two nights. On Wednesday we rented a pontoon boat and took it out for a couple of hours. Had fried chicken and potato salad on board and Jeff paddled around in the water for a while (both traditions).

On Thursday (yesterday), we came back to town so I could do a poetry workshop at The Library Center in Springfield. We decided not to go back for a last night when we had to check out this morning. We called and told them we were leaving a night early. Today is the only 6-1 work day I’ve had all week. Not an ideal week, but we had some laughs and ate at a good restaurant (three times). Oh, and we saw a lot of Highway 65. It’s a pretty drive between Springfield and Branson.
